Serving Vancouver

Classic Italian Food for Vancouver Diners

Vancouver sits on the Washington side of the Columbia River, and plenty of its residents cross the water for a dinner they cannot find at home. Our family kitchen on Southeast Powell Boulevard is a straight run south over the interstate bridge, close enough that Clark County regulars treat us as their go-to Italian spot. From a weeknight plate of fettuccine alfredo to full Italian catering for an event near Esther Short Park, we bring recipes that came straight from Italy to the WA side of the metro.

Vancouver has grown into a real dining city, from the restaurants along the Vancouver Waterfront to the neighborhoods around Cascade Park, yet handmade Italian-American cooking is still hard to come by north of the Columbia. That is exactly the gap our kitchen fills. The recipes came from Italy with founders Giovanni and Rosina DeNicola, and nothing on the plate starts frozen. Washington diners who want lasagna, chicken piccata, or hand-rolled gnocchi make the short drive across the river, and the full Italian dinner menu gives them a long list of reasons to do it.

Because the trip means crossing a state line and a bridge, Vancouver families often make an evening of it, folding dinner into a visit to Portland. Others keep the celebration at home and let us come to them. Our catering has carried trays of baked ziti-style pasta, veal parmigiana, and garlic cheese bread north over I-205 to Vancouver receptions and office lunches, planned around the headcount so nobody runs short. Our Italian seafood plates, like the Linguini by the Sea with seven large prawns, travel well for a special occasion on the Washington side.

For a proper sit-down meal, our signature Italian entrees pull Vancouver diners across the Columbia, especially the veal marsala and the roast chicken Italiano. Vancouver shares the east-metro corridor with Gresham once you clear the bridge on I-205, so if you are closer to that route, our notes on Italian dining near Gresham point toward the same tables on Southeast Powell.

Neighborhood by Neighborhood

Where Vancouver Dines With Us

Downtown Vancouver

Downtown Vancouver centers on Esther Short Park and the historic core near the waterfront, a walkable district of shops and civic spots. Residents here make an easy evening of crossing the river for dinner at our Southeast Portland tables. Many book catering for celebrations closer to home.

Uptown Village

Uptown Village runs along Main Street just north of downtown, a settled Vancouver neighborhood of older homes and local storefronts. Its households enjoy the quick bridge trip for date nights and family dinners. Weeknight orders of homemade pasta dinners are common here.

Cascade Park

Cascade Park anchors east Vancouver near the I-205 corridor, a busy area of family homes and shopping. Convenience matters here, so catering and larger takeout orders see steady use. The neighborhood's easy freeway access keeps our tables a straightforward drive south.

Salmon Creek

Salmon Creek sits at Vancouver's north end near the university and the natural area, a growing community of newer households. Gatherings here often call for catering that can travel across the river and still arrive hot. We handle the logistics so Salmon Creek hosts can enjoy the party.

Why Diners Make the Drive

The Vancouver Italian Food Gap, and How We Fill It

Vancouver's dining challenge starts with the river. The city has built up a strong restaurant scene of its own, but authentic family-run Italian cooking is scarce on the Washington side, which means diners chasing scratch sauces and fresh pasta usually cross the Columbia into Oregon. From most of Vancouver the trip to our Southeast Powell tables runs about twenty to twenty-five minutes down I-5 or I-205, a reasonable drive for a dinner worth the bridge.

When staying in Washington wins the night, our takeout and delivery service keeps the same menu available, packed to hold its quality on the longer ride north. Curbside pickup is ready if you time it for a trip through Portland. For an event on the Vancouver side, call (503) 239-5221 and we will plan a family-style Italian menu that suits your Clark County gathering, dietary needs included.

Catering across a state line adds a wrinkle, since the food has to travel farther and still arrive at the right temperature. We plan our Vancouver deliveries around that reality, timing the route over the bridge and packing each tray to hold well through the drive and the party. Washington hosts get restaurant-quality Italian that tastes the same at their table as it does at ours.
